Director / Manager – Customs (based in Singapore)
Bryan Cave International Trade (www.bryancavetrade.com) is an integral part of the international client services group within Bryan Cave LLP (www.bryancave.com). We offer advice on entrepreneurial and commercial issues, including customs compliance and advocacy, regulatory and trade compliance, international transactions and investments. Our team of professionals offers pragmatic business solutions to clients to establish and manage cross-border transactions and investments, and international supply chain issues. Key services include:

Compliance reviews on laws and regulations governing imports, exports, export control, in-bound investments, special Customs areas and the general conduct of business in the region;
-
Reviewing investment, transaction and operational flows to identify potential cost-savings and develop optimal business plan;
-
Representing clients in dealing with investigations and enforcement actions initiated by the authorities, including Customs; and
-
Developing effective anti-illicit trade strategies, gathering useful intelligence and undertaking effective countermeasures, as well as engaging and supporting the relevant authorities in their conduct of anti-illicit trade investigations within the constraints of domestic laws.
What we are looking for:
A motivated and entrepreneurial professional at the Director / Manager level with relevant customs and trade background. Key characteristics required include:

Strong relationship skills that allow you to collaborate with members of the Bryan Cave International Trade team as well as within the greater Bryan Cave network
-
Good technical knowledge of customs issues, such as valuation and transfer pricing, classification, customs duties and related taxes, export control, customs audit and compliance, in general, as well as laws and regulations governing such issues in particular
-
Good client skills evidenced by an ability to build, maintain and develop client relationships
-
Ability to conduct business development. A track record of revenue generation is a plus.
