Mr. Kittipong Jangkamolkulchai advises clients on international trade matters, cross border transactions, as well as supply chain matters, including trade, customs and excise compliance. He assists clients operating in the Export Processing Zone (“EPZ”) and Customs Free Zone (“CFZ”) with regard to the privileges, rules and regulations of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (“IEAT”) and the Customs Department, as well as provides guidance for cost-effective compliance operations. He conducts Customs health checks, and assists clients under Thailand’s Customs Post Audit Program as well as in settling claims with the Thai Customs. Mr. Jangkamolkulchai also advises trading companies on business transactions and associated tax liability exposures under various tax and duty privilege schemes, e.g., Bonded Warehouse, Board of Investment (“BOI”) and CFZ. In addition, he assists clients in exploring new business set-up in Thailand.

International Business Expansion
  • Identified, compared and highlighted the investment (foreign investment restrictions, incentives, direct tax, double tax treaties, transfer pricing, etc.), and customs (import procedures, import duties, drawback, privileges etc.) issues in Thailand for a French undergarment manufacturer.

Customs Compliance & Advisory
  • Created an import/export procedural manual on Thailand (covering classification, valuation, documentation, and import restrictions, etc.) for a major U.S. trading company.

  • Advised a major German automobile manufacturer on import duty exemption privileges of the EPZ and CFZ and how to capitalize on such privileges.

  • Provided assistance in reviewing the internal compliance and controls, as well as interviewing key personnel, of a major UK healthcare product manufacturer to identify possible customs exposure and suggest recommendation for improvement.

  • Conducted documentary and process reviews for a major Japanese automobile manufacturer for compliance with customs and excise requirements and identify risk exposures as well as suggested measures for improvement.

  • Advised a major French manufacturer of optical lenses on the import/export procedure under the EPZ to ensure compliance and minimize exposure.

  • Verified the cost structure of the exported products of a major Japanese electronic components manufacturer according to the requirements of the Generalized System of Preference (“GSP”).

Defense & Advocacy
  • Assisted a major Japanese car manufacturer to substantially reduce the claim by the Thai Customs on the origin of imported goods according to the ASEAN Rules of Origin.

  • Provided assistance to a major Japanese manufacturer of heavy industrial products to defend the valuation case with the Thai Customs and substantially reduce the penalty amount.
