Ms. Prangtis Suppavah contributes to the consulting service in the areas of finance and risk management. She provides assistance on matters relating to international trade, cross-border transactions, Customs compliance and other Customs matters, such as valuation, tariff code classification, duty refund, customs privileges and Board of Investment (“BOI”) regulations and privileges. She also advises clients on developing and maintaining consistency and credibility of processes and data in accordance with the requirements of relevant authorities. In addition, she also advises clients on optimizing BOI privileges while ensuring compliance of the reporting system, as well as assisting with the application of such privileges.

Strategic Business Solutions
  • Assisting in preparing a study on the investment (foreign investment restrictions, incentives, direct/indirect tax, double tax treaties, transfer pricing, etc.), customs (import/export procedures, import duties, excise tax, drawback, valuation, customs and BOI privileges, etc.), and other regulatory conditions (required business license, health and safety requirements, consumption/sale restrictions, advertising restrictions, etc.) relating to the establishment of different types of foreign business entities (e.g. representative office, branch office, distribution center, retailing, wholesaling).

Customs Compliance & Advisory
  • Advised a major German automobile manufacturer on import duty exemption privileges of the Export Processing Zone (“EPZ”) and the Customs Free Zone (“CFZ”) and how to capitalize on such privileges.

  • Conducted documentary and process reviews for a major Japanese automobile manufacturer for compliance with customs and excise requirements and identify risk exposures as well as suggested measures for improvement.

  • Prepared reports and presentations on customs review for the clients to report on customs risks exposures and provide suggestions or remedies for such risks.

Defense & Advocacy
  • Assisted a group of major Japanese automotive parts manufacturer to defend the claim by the Thai Customs on the importation of restricted chemical compound according to the Armament Act.

  • Provided assistance to a major Japanese manufacturer of heavy industrial and automotive products to defend the valuation case with the Thai Customs and substantially reduce the penalty amount.

  • Assisted a British tobacco company in Thailand in minimizing its customs and excise duty exposures with the use of WTO customs valuation methodologies.

  • Provided advice to a major subcontractor in oil and gas industry to defend a fraudulent case with the Thai Customs.

Trade Intelligence
  • Provided assistance in researching information relating customs and excise tax, specifically relevant to the automotive, tobacco, electronics and machinery industries.

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance from Mahidol University, International College (MUIC)
