Mr. Weerasak Chunharungroj provides support on international trade matters, customs laws and regulations, excise tax rules and regulations, as well as logistics management. He is a key coordinator with the Thai Customs & Excise Department. He has provided advice on customs valuation and customs procedures for importation, customs privileges, and conducted documentary review for customs compliance purposes. In the Customs bonded warehouse area, he has conducted customs review, identified customs exposure for clients using customs bonded warehouse privileges, as well as assisted clients in identifying the costs and benefits of using a customs free zone.

Assisted a German automobile manufacturing company in establishing the customs free zone as well as advised on regulations of operating within the customs free zone

Advised and assisted several Japanese companies in applying for and using customs privileges (e.g. duty drawbacks, bonded warehouse, customs free zone, export processing zone)

Conducted a customs review for clients in various industries, particularly, automotive, chemicals, electronics, steels...etc. in order to ensure their compliance with customs requirements and identify risk exposures.

Provided assistance in reviewing the internal compliance and controls, as well as interviewing key personnel, of a major Japanese car manufacturer to identify possible customs exposure and suggest recommendation for improvement.

Represented a Japanese tobacco company in requesting for the refund of tobacco stamp duty from the Thai Excise Department

Assisted a Japanese tobacco company in Thailand in minimizing its customs and excise duty exposures with the use of WTO customs valuation methodologies.

Assisted several major multinational corporations in Thailand in appealing on tariff classifications and import value to the Thai Customs Department in order to minimize their tax liabilities and/or obtain the refund of overpaid import duty or any other taxes.
