Mr. Wahju Tjahjo Wibowo has experience with regard to industrial cooperation, investment, intellectual property rights, small medium enterprise and Free Trade Areas (“FTAs”) in ASEAN, particularly rules of origin (“ROO”). He assists clients on issues relating to investment and trade incentives within the ASEAN region, such as import duty incentives offered by ASEAN countries through the ASEAN Industrial Cooperation (“AICO”) Scheme and the Common Effective Preferential Tariff (“CEPT”) Scheme.

• Formerly an official of the ASEAN Secretariat and the focal point for issues on industrial cooperation and FTAs with dialogue partners.

• Monitored the implementation of the AICO Scheme.

• Facilitated FTA negotiations between ASEAN and Dialogue Partners, e.g., ASEAN-China (“ACFTA”), ASEAN-Korea (“AKFTA”), ASEAN-Japan (“AJCEP”), ASEAN-India (“AIFTA”) and ASEAN-Australia New Zealand (“AANZFTA”).

• Worked on Investment, Small and Medium Enterprise and Intellectual Property Rights cooperation issues in ASEAN.

• Provided timely intelligence on and analysis of developments in the areas of investment, trade, customs and FTAs in ASEAN and Indonesia, specifically relevant to the automotive, tobacco, electronics and machinery industries.
