» Our Practice » Customs Advisory » Valuation & Transfer Pricing

Customs valuation is a complex matter. Although most Customs authorities in Asia have implemented the WTO Customs Valuation Agreement, there are still customs requirements and practices unique to individual countries. Moreover, an increasing number of tax authorities in Asia are focusing on transfer price and its linkage to customs value, which further complicates the matter.

Bryan Cave International Trade derives expertise and knowledge from its long-time and continued association with international organizations as well as local authorities. We assist clients in determining the declared value of imports for customs purposes. This includes advice relating to dutiable elements not included in the invoice price, as well as possible exclusion of certain costs, partially or wholly, from the transaction value (transfer price) resulting in lower customs value and thus, reducing duty/tax payable.
